Remember way back when I used to make packs for you guys? Well guess what, I'm thinking of doing it again. Thing is this time, I'm not just trying to get rid of stuff. Whether I decide to do this or not will be a business decision of mine. I only want to do it if there is a possibility of gaining profit. I don't need a guarantee of profit, but at least a possibility. Here's what I was thinking:
I would do it like I did last time. I would stop trading entirely, and put all of my tradeables into the packs. I was thinking of doing one auto and/or game-used every 5 packs, with a guaranteed two RC's in every pack. I will have every pack pre-made, to guarantee that I'm not giving all the good cards to my friends. And to make it fun and fair, every pack will be RANDOM. Yes, there will be a ratio as I make the packs, but after they are made, the packs will be shuffled/randomized so the ratio doesn't affect direct distribution. The reason I do this is because it ****s when you pull one auto and KNOW that you won't pull another. I know it would **** to pull nothing but crap packs, but that possibility is the cost we pay to add to the fun and fairness of the packs.
Will there be crappy packs? YES. Will there be "Ok" packs? Probably. Will there be "Good but not great" packs? Probably. Will there be GREAT packs? DEFINITELY. You are not guaranteed anything nice, but you are not guaranteed crap, either. With the randomization of the packs, theoretically you could pull an auto in every pack! But also, theoretically you could pull crap in every pack. But as with buying any sorts of packs, you take a risk. It is up to you to determine whether or not the risk is worth it.
There would be 7, yes I said SEVEN chances to pull a Kevin Garnett autograph! There will also be a LeBron James auto thrown in a lucky buyer's pack for good measure. You would be able to get autos of the following players, among others not listed (this list is subject to change at any time before pack production begins):
Kevin Garnett
LeBron James
Devin Harris
Marquis Daniels
Jerry Stackhouse
Drew Gooden
Andre Iguodala
Quentin Richardson
Andre Miller
Sebastian Telfair
Bobby Jackson
Josh Smith
Al Jefferson
Ben Gordon
Yuta Tabuse
Kenyon Martin
Eddy Curry
Paul Pierce
Zach Randolph
Yao Ming
Jason Kidd
Amare Stoudemire
and Steve Francis!
There will be an equally versatile possibility to pull great game-used and rookie cards! On top of the pre-made ratio (before randomization), I will be generous with some packs by putting more than one auto and/or game-used in. I guess you could call these "hot packs" or whatever you wish.
As a small-time businessman, I always pride myself on my honesty. And to be honest with you, theoretically many of you will be VERY disappointed in your pack(s), but also theoretically many of you will be VERY happy with your pack(s). As I also pride myself on quality, I will do my best to make as few "crap packs" as possible, although, again I'm being honest, such packs are unavoidable to make.
At this time I would only be able to take cash or money orders. Absolutely NO personal checks and no PayPal.
My question to you is this: How much would you pay for one of these packs? And if you were me (the seller hoping to turn a profit), how would you change the pack production, if at all? Help me out, guys, and I just might be helping a lot of you out.
P.S. I was also thinking of throwing in redemptions for used PS1, PS2, and/or XBOX videogames. Please tell me what you think of that, too.
