Besides the comics you get at your local shops, where does everybody get there comics online?

Ebay, Midtown Comics and a guy on another forum are the only other ways I've gotten comics. I'd like to go to a show but there the closest one is about a 6 Hour drive and happens once a year.

Usually eBay for lots. For trades and HCs eBay but I've also used Amazon a few times.

Do the other sites above have good prices on trades/HCs? It's about all I buy these days.

My local shop has never failed to secure almost anything I've asked for. I'm not big into collecting back issues - I'm quite happy if I don't ever own a copy of the Hulk with the first ever appearance of Wolverine.

In the very rare event that the LCS can't get what I'm looking for - "Five Fists of Science" by Matt Fraction being a good example, since it's OOP - then and only then do I hit eBay.

Even though I moved 1200KM a way I still try my best to support my old LCS. The owner is a good guy with a young family to support, he tries his best and offers me the best service he can. I am all about supporting guys like that.

I'll add my bit about my LCS. Way back, much earlier in the year, I'd go in every Wednesday or Thursday (schedule permitting) and spend over an hour in the shop. Chit-chatting, looking through trades, browsing $1 boxes, looking over the shelves for some one-off purchase. I'd typically spend between $40 and $50. Every week.

When I got laid off earlier this year I went in to put a hold on my pull list. I still went in for the next couple of weeks to finish off a series or two, but there was a palpable difference in the way they treated me. The chit-chatting stopped and the guy than ran it acted like he didn't know me.

Yes, it's all business for them, but I didn't like how I was immediately a leper. Now if I feel the spontaneous in-person comic purchase I go to a shop that's a 20-minute drive away as opposed to the local shop that's literally 2-miles from my house.

That bites. By contradistinction:
In 2000, I had to spend 3 months out of town at another university as part of my training. I asked the LCS if he'd mind just holding my file in reserve and I'd clear it out once I got my reimbursement cheque. Not only did he hold the file, he gave me an extra 5% on my file discount when I did clear it out.

I'm'a support his store till he shutters the windows.
