So i found a card that i want it lists at 99.99$ and make offers.. so i throw in a offer and seller counters with 99.99... lol ? whats the deal having make offers when u counter what the BIN goes for.. thats so typical why waste peoples time with that :|

I have set up BIN/OBO and I can tell you that if someone sends me a joke offer I will counter with the full amount or maybe the full amount less a penny. Other instance might be if s/he just listed the card in the last couple of days but one would think that the seller would notify you of that.

I do the same thing , there haggling , or a fair starting point but most people will get the back up if they fell there getting low balled

I do the exact same thing. Some of the offers you recieve are downright insulting.

I agree them I just put up a schenn 1/1 at 299 BIN/BO and I got an offer for $60 so I replied with $275. Am I accepting way less? Yup but $60 isn't even a starting point IMO

Yea I listed my Richards Pride of a Nation 1/1 (granted my BIN is high) but I got an offer of $12. I flat out declined it. He then sent another offer of $20 so I countered at a penny less than my buy it now. Thankfully he didnt waste my time with a third 'offer'

i dont consider 99.99 and offer 60$ as a start lowball but everyone has their own prices but if that strict better take option away and nobody will give lowball offers like it will offend some people.

When I get a low-ball offer I will usually decline them and then proceed to send the buyer a note, congratulating them for being added to my 'banned buyers list'. I realize this is harsh, but I hope that they'll at least learn not to be so insulting and also refrain from wasting others seller's time in the future.

I just decline and put them on the blocked bidder list.

You guys are hilarious. If someone sends me a lowball offer, instead of being a jerk about it (even if the bidder is trying to pretty much steal from you), I still reply with the price I have in mind.

What's the harm in sending a reasonable offer back? Either he accepts or he doesn't... you don't lose anything but a few seconds of your time.

Sometimes retards need a wake up call. 99.9% of the time if they start with an offer like that there is no chance of a deal whatsoever.

But it's exciting when you see you got an offer and you get to check it out!

Not really. I list on eBay to sell, not play around with lowballers and cheapos. I do enough of that setting up at our local card show.

I'm fine with this if a middle ground is established beforehand (ie you list a card for $100, they offer $50 and so on.) Not worth establishing yourself with a guy that wants to tool around. It's like watching Pawn Stars and seeing Rick trying to barter with a guy who wants $1000 for a $200 toy (or vice versa really...Rick wants to give $50 for a $1000 baseball card.) Where do you even begin? Is it even worth the hassle of you putting the thought into making a reasonable offer?

I'm amazed at the "hate" towards the folks making "lowball" bids. Did it ever occur to you that the person thinks that's an appropriate starting point? I collect a lot of Predator cards and when I see one I'm interested in I send an offer I think is appropriate for the card. It might be much less than the BIN the seller has placed but it is a well intentioned offer. Why would you ban me from buying from you in the future because I have a different opinion of the worth of the card? Makes no sense to eliminate a potential seller for the card.

A much better approach is to use the tool offered so that you don't waste your time. I've seen people put high BIN on cards I'd never pay 20% of the amount they're asking and I've never seen go for that much. Just my opinion.

I couldn't have said it better.

I've seen some ridiculous prices on some of Filatovs' cards over the past couple years. When his cards first came out I was paying top dollar for his stuff. Now that he's spent so much time in the minors and the possibility of playing in the NHL seem that much more against him I would expect his cards to sell for less. Just because the seller may think it should still sell at $200 doesn't make it right. If you're offended that I send in an offer that I think is reasonable then why even bother posting the sale using best offer.

would you ban a bidder in a regular auction if they won a card for a lot less than you were hoping for? BIN/OBO is no different IMO.

I agree with you....and I prefer if someone makes an educated offer IE If I am selling an Ovechkin card and know the last 3-6 sold between 130.00-145.00. I am going to look at offers somewhere in that range....If it has been a while and the best offer is 125.00 perhaps I do it(more likely only if I really need the money) but I am not going to take that right away when I know it is selling for more(I know the difference is not that great but it is an example).
However I think even if it is a nrmt-mt and someone offer 50.00 I will just press decline or a fair counter offer...No I rather not waste a lot time but there is a limit on offers(at least there was) so I can't worry too much about it
