Why having Make offers on ebay ?

I've brought up a similar issue here before and I was very surprised at the amount of anger directed at what are perceived to "lowball" offers. No one likes to have their time wasted, but a $60 offer on a $100 is a reasonable starting point. I've been blocked by a seller who thought that I had made a "low" offer before and it just struck me as foolish. Why shrink your potential customer base? I think people need to relax a little when it comes to "low" offers.

I agree with you....and I prefer if someone makes an educated offer IE If I am selling an Ovechkin card and know the last 3-6 sold between 130.00-145.00. I am going to look at offers somewhere in that range....If it has been a while and the best offer is 125.00 perhaps I do it(more likely only if I really need the money) but I am not going to take that right away when I know it is selling for more(I know the difference is not that great but it is an example).
However I think even if it is a nrmt-mt and someone offer 50.00 I will just press decline or a fair counter offer...No I rather not waste a lot time but there is a limit on offers(at least there was) so I can't worry too much about it

To tell you the truth I don't check on previous pricing on ebay. I watch ebay a bunch and I have an internal budget. If I see a card I want and need, I'll bid more. If I already have one of that card, then I'll offer less because it's not worth as much to me. Recently, I watched a card be offered with a starting price of $24.95 twice (same card) with no bids. The seller put a BIN of $44.95 and relisted it. I offered $10 or $12 which I thought was reasonable for that card and would have gone a little higher. Someone seeing my bid might think I lowballed it but I offered my price for it. The seller turned it down so I wrote him and thanked him for considering the offer. That's all I'm asking is some consideration. If you don't like my bid, either reject it or counter. No hard feelings either way.

I agree that $60 is a reasonable offer on the $100 IF the $100 is a reasonable BIN.

Makes sense..I am not doing ebay too much now but if I do I would consider offers and give an honest response (accept or decline). I think unless the person is obviously playing games being respectful is the way to go.
