I was watching the USA and Czech Republic game this morning and Jaromir Jagr got a hat trick. That man was moving around like a little kid out there and his moves are still mighty good. The Czechs smoked USA 4-0 first round of the playoffs.

I wonder if he will come back to the USA and play in the NHL again.

Jagr may still have it to an extent but this isn't exactly the silver medal olympic team from 2010 that he's playing against.

Still a lot of good players on that team tho. USA played good up til now. They were just flat today. You gotta remember Jagr isn't exactly young either!

He told a reporter from Edmonton that he hasn't had as much fun playing and practising as he has since he went to Omsk - he sounded open to coming back to the NHL, but I seriously doubt he really wants to

He left last time because no one would pay him what he thought he was worth.

Do you think his opinion of his worth has changed???

He hasn't signed a contract for next season yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the NHL next season. He can still play thats for sure.

Jagr has always had the talent. he could (and often times did) put the entire team on his back and carry them. it's unfortunate his age had to catch up with him. he simply doesn't have enough gas in the tank anymore to play the way he does for a full 82 games and post season. good to see him making the most of the time he does play now.

I enjoyed that game very much. Im of course a big fan of Jagr, and I try to see as many games where he plays as possible. And I have to say that he has been very impressive the last year, with Omsk and now the national team. And I hope he comes back one last time, there are some rumors about Jagr to either Montreal or Pittsburgh. Personly I would like to see him back at Pittsburgh and I think he could produce 60-80 points on a 2nd line. But after following Jagr career for some times now, I think he would end up with another year in KHL and Omsk. Cervenka(one of his linemates from Omsk has already signed with Omsk, and Jagr loves to play with him). But its fun to see that he gets the spotlite once again.

not trying to add fire or open anything but isnt one of his better friends also Tomas Plekanec?? that could possibly influence him coming to montreal if any. but at the same time, what he is looking for and what teams are willing to give are two different thigns too

You are totally right. Do you hope that he ends up with the Habs? He has said that the team has to be a title contender, if he would consider to move back to NHL again.

I saw the match today. Suprise. In the first period USA was better than Czech Republic. They were strong at the puck and also their checking in the offensive zone was tough. Pavelec helped our team a lot. But from the second period the match was in our hands. I think that Jagr plays so strong because of his cooperation with Plekanec. They understand each other perfect. When Pleks wasnt on the team, Jagr's game wasnt so good. But I guess he is maybe the oldest player who scored a hattrick in the worlds tournament. Funny thing is that he made an interview after the match, where he was complaining about himself, that his performance wasnt good at all and he needs to be better in next matches.

Would like to see him play one more season in NHL, but most probably he will sign 1 year contract in Omsk and then he will return to Czech Republic to play for his mother team Kladno.

That is classic Jagr the last years, he dont like to speak highly of him self. And that is nice to see and hear. And I agree 100% with you on that he will take one more year in Omsk and then return to Kladno. He will take his fathers place as president in that club. It could also happen next season, but I hope he decides to take one more year in NHL.

Agree 100%. His behaviour dramatically changed in last 5 years. Earlier it was the arrogant guy, who was rather sitting in a casino and loosing hundreds of thousand dollars than playing for his country at the world championship. I think now he is a classy player who is a good example for young kids. Also like to watch him as much as possible, because such great player will not be born in Czech in next 50 years.

His situation is very different from other 'deportees' like Radulov and Zherdev. So I dont think anyone, GM, fan, or player, is soured by his exit the first time. I dont think he would have any problem coming back. The question becomes his asking price....

He certainly isnt coming back for 1-2 mil. And I dont know how much more a team would be willing to shell out for a big aging question mark. Would be awesome to see him back though.

Not sure a lot of Pens fans would agree with you. For as much good as he did for the Pens early on in his career, the bad blood from his departure may still overrule.

I am not saying I want him back. he would probably have to play for a lot less. But there are a lot of fans that are more part of the Crosby era vs the jagr era...It might be a love hate relationship. And if he was wearing the black and gold one more time unless he was horrible in the media or on the ice he would be forgiven.

I think there might be another team that could pay him more than the Pens...With 2 players making more than 8 mill+...How much could they really pay him and not jepordize the teams other needs?

Are you suggesting he sign with the Bruins???

That would be an odd sight to see. Then again so was seeing his name on the back of a Rangers jersey.
