Who will win it all in how many games?

The fact that the referees are even being talked about means that they have insinuated themselves into the results which is a huge no-no. Let the boys play and decide it for themselves without all the ticky tack crap. There was a penalty called early in the game on Datsyuk where the Penguins player just clearly lost an edge and fell down without Datsyuk ever touching the guy. This is supposed to be the creme de la creme of NHL officiating? It's almost as big as a joke as the NBA refs. The refs have done a horrendous job on calls going both ways and its taking away from a great series. Seriously, how many times did the ref get hit by a clearing attempt last night including on the winning goal. Get the **** out of the way and open your eyes.

Nice vids, your right, they are nothing alike.

first Cleary wasn't pushed at all in my opinion, he clearly ran into
the goalie who was standing his ground in the crease area.

Sykora, who didn't have the puck was going behind the goal
to try and get a piece of it and keep it from going out. the
goalie in this case, choose to leave the crease and become a
defenseman. also in my opinion, Osgood initiated the contact.

You know what, its just 2 sides of the fence. Only i'm not the
one crying about it.

Guess you're right, there isn't anything to discuss.

Since I said I was done discussing it I wont comment anymore except to say I was never crying over it. I wasnt upset by the call on Cleary. I reffed enough years to know it is a split second call and you get some right and you get some wrong.

My first comment was to your question of "how is the cleary call any different than the call on sykora or malone in the earlier game?". I showed how they are different and I will leave it at that.

I asked this question earlier.

Do you think the NHL is colluding to make sure the Penguins win the Cup?

Conspiracy theorist minds want to know.

I don't think so, but the refs DO get paid per game, so why not stretch it out to as many games as they can!!?? They should change this and pay them per series...

Rod - wouldn't you then get the opposite? If I'm paid for the series, no matter how long it goes, I'd want it to go 4 games, so I'd be making calls to keep it short.

Pure and simple, mistakes happen, and I know it sucks when they happen to the team you're cheering for in the finals, but these guys are far from perfect no matter what official is used, I'm sure someone could find a video of them totally screwing up a game in the last year - it happens.

you dont see guys in the NHL with guns all the time and dope charges and all that other tough guy stuff like in the NBA .....

Congrats to the Wings and to Zetty. They were great throughout the playoffs. A big thumbs up to Lidstrom too for becoming the 1st European Captain to capture the Cup (kinda wish Alfie coulda pulled it off first though :D)

The Pens put up a good fight. I'm sure they'll be back soon.

Till next year boys!

Oh, I almost forgot... What a classy move by the Wings to applaud as the Pens were leaving the ice. That organization is totally top notch!

Hat's off to the Pen's also on fighting till the bitter end. Turned into a fantastic final!!

... but not touch the goalie. On the first goaltender interference he touched (ran) the goalie without being pushed.

I have no idea what people are complaining about on the first penalty. By the letter of the law it's a penalty.

I think whats more concerning is that they let a lot of other stuff go only to call that.

I guess Babcok whined about it enough before tonights game that they let Franzen run him from behind early in the game with no call. Oh well, Wings hang on to win another nail biter and take the cup home. Congrats, and thank goodness it's over.

Osgood got robbed though, he was the teams most valuable playoff performer. Without him, they would have struggled to get out of round 1, and would have gotten drilled in round two with Hasek in net. The league robbed him of the Conn Smythe because Zetterberg was the "sexier" pick for the NHL.

Congrats! Wow what an ending. Pittsburgh has a fantastic team that should be good for years to come. I'm so relieved :)

Even though I can't stand the Wings, I haev to say one thing. I am sick and tired of listening to the radio and reading on forums how the Wings are the New York Yankees of hockey, they just buy their Stanley Cup Championships, blah blah blah. Maybe in the past they made some trades or paid to sign some playoff proven veterans, but nothing the likes of the Yankmees. I heard someone say it today on the radio and I wanted to reach through the speaker and strangle him. This team was assembled through the draft pretty much top to bottom. A few guys they traded for but come on, even Draper was a young pup and they gave up a big whopping $1 bill for him. They have the best international scouts by a huge margin, and they draft incredibly smart and dedicated hockey players. I think this team deserves way more credit for what they accomplished then the previous 4 teams, it's not even close really.
