Anybody live in Thornhill, Ontario? Or know this ebay seller...

Anybody ever dealt with 'stalexvideoandcards' through ebay?

Pretty sure I'm getting ripped off by this guy... 2 weeks ago I use BIN of 150.00 and pay immediately for a card - I pay for insurance + expresspost at an extra cost of 11.00.

A week goes by, I contact the seller and he says "sorry I've been ill all week in bed, your card went out today".... so I wait another 4 business days and on Thursday of last week I email him asking to provide a tracking number and an exact date as to when the card was shipped or I'm filing a chargeback on Monday. I receive NO response at all, so I proceed with the chargeback exactly as I said.

Today I check the status of the paypal claim (still no response from seller through email to me, by the way) and he's provided a tracking number for a package sent 6 hours after my claim was filed. Fairly interesting, eh?

No doubt it's a package full of nothing but a signature is required. We'll see what I get, but I'd advise staying away from this reject...

If I do get nothing, would love to know if somebody is living in that area and can contact the authorities for me, since I know paypal won't be recovering any funds for me with the proof that this package is in the mail.

I'm really freaking mad by the way... :mad:

Dont open the package. Take it to the Police Station, explain the situation. Take a copy of the auction, the paypal info and make sure the dates/times are noted. Explain whats SUPPOSED to be in the package and then open it in front of an officer.
When it comes up empty/bogus, you can have the Officers first hand experience to use to your advantage.

Thanks for the idea... I should do that. I might look extremely stupid though if I happen to have printed out all of the information, then I go into a police station and the card is actually in the envelope...

Is there anything else I can do though to protect myself if the package is in fact empty? It really sounds like this is what he's done.... he hasn't responded to my emails from last week, Monday or today.... but he sure seems to be able to respond to Paypal in a hurry.

why would it be stupid? feel the package, if its empty, youre fine. If theres SOMETHING in it, go to the PD and explain the situation. Shouldnt mind being a witness, especially if it IS in there and there is no problem.
 
Signature required on expresspost? Never heard of that within Canada? I live close by, let me know if you need assistance. Not sure the authorities would get involved unless its' you that contacts them. Would be kinda hard for someone to explain the story to a police officer.

Believe it's a box you can check off to make it need a signature.
 
oh man, Igor (i know for a fact after i checked on ebay) is in trouble again ... i am getting pretty disappointed with this guy now

one question though, did you get a package with nothing in it ?? or you think you will get a package with nothing in it
 
His name is Igor? I've heard bad things about that guy... lol.

Havn't got the package yet... filed the claim through Paypal on Monday, package should be here tomorrow. He sent the package 6 hours after I filed the claim... so I have no idea what is inside, and there is no response to any of my emails.
 
then, i believe that you will get your cards.... i thought you got a package with nothing in it

he got himself in a big mess over at the other board, but he does have the cards when he put them on ebay ..... because he actually sets up a store over in Thornhill

If it is Igor, and he uses Grinch on Becketts, your just joining onto a large list of people who are very unhappy with this guy right now.
 
Is that Igor? I just talked to him Yesterday, he didn't appear to be bed ridden to me :confused: I see him every Tuesday at the Thornhill show.

Take the package to the police staton and open it in front of an officer, regardless of wether or not anything is in it. My buddy Larry bought a Gretzky SPA SOTT for $200, and got a $10 Zetterberg SOTT in the package. Since he provided a tracking number, Paypal told him to kiss off. The cops could provide a good witness if you need to take it to Paypal.

Also, if you paid with a credit card and the guy screwed you, you can go straight to your card company. I've had to do that myself.

I dunno if it is or isn't Igor but I know he has like 3 emails and 5 Ebay names.
I am trying to get those names off someone on the other Beck, boards
 
It was confirmed on Beck, that it is infact Igor using that Ebay name. Best to do up a search if your on that site and see what there is. They just locked down the thread that was in the hockey talk section.
 
Its definitely Igor. And no way in He double hockey sticks was he bed-ridden. whats the card? I'll GLADLY visit his little desk inside the Russian video store to see if the card is still in his showcase. I'll need a gasmask though.

Best to check that out also, cause this is getting out of hand now. Not sending, sending damaged cards, not replacing.
This guy spent what ?? 5-10 years getting his name in so many good books, and in the pass 3 months, he has been trashed so much and to so many.
I dunno what his story is, but I think he should come clean, money problems ? get taken to the bank by a woman ?? got drunk and left your Visa ??
no excuse to this, and worst part is he is still emailing people and selling stuff, thinking he did nothing wrong.
Igor is wrecking a lot of Christmas's for many people.
 
well, his "store" IS called GRINCH sports. I just realized I bought off him from Ebay months ago - 5 bucks shipping. No idea if he does the Brantford show or any of the others outside the Expo and thornhill show.
 
Well I did get an email from him today... this is what it says:

"Hello,
sorry for all of that, I have told you I was really sick, so I ask my frend to send it out for me, and he is an *** and did not get to the post office in a week, again very sorry for that, I hope you got the card and every thig good that way."

Card still hasn't arrived, mail didn't have it this morning... guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted...
 
Igor strikes again!

This guy has been garbage since day 1. People in Toronto DETEST this clown. He's by far the worst dealer to ever grace the face of the Toronto card scene. Hell, even those stiffs from Fastball think the guy is a joker, and that says a lot.

Good luck to those waiting for something from him, I hope he comes through for you. If not, I suggest calling the local authorities. Even better, call Revenue Canada if the police can't help. If you paid him via PayPal, you have his full name.

So if he's still got it at his shop then yea it's not in the mail. Again, I could be jumping the gun here since there IS a package on its way to me... but at this point I'm still pretty concerned... =/
