Hi All,

Has anyone opened any of the Famous Fabrics Ink - Hockey Edition? I'd like to know what people think of the product and what box prices people are seeing.

I saw one box opened and it was a Rogatien Vachon!!!Ouch!!! I would stay away from this product!!!

It's a major hit or miss product... a deceased All-Star or Adam Foote... there's a massive range of goodness and badness.

My hopes for the set were gone when I saw pulls like Radek Bonk and Pavel Brendl coming out.

Ditto. Makes it fairly hard to take when the slab is worth more than the auto.

I think we should start a "tracker" threads on eBay... I would get a kick out of seeing the eBay sale values of all of the singles. I am a Cut Collector and did not order any of this stuff. I don't think there should EVER be Cut Autos of living players. I didn't have as big an issue with the Superlative Enshrined set..... I dunno, I hope the people who rolled the dice on this stuff are lucky and happy with their pulls.

i think your money is better spent getting a signed 8x10 of whatever player you want.. these seem a little too pricey for just a cut auto.. they are very plain looking aswell. not very appealing to the eyes.

Yah this is pretty much what I thought... It just doesn't look very good, pretty boring stuff. I am not a fan of any cards without a picture of the player.

Yeah, there's no explaining that one. I know it's 1/1, but you can get a Crosby Auto card with his picture for less than $100. Fools and their money I suppose...

I saw a James Neal on eBay not long ago. So what's the appeal of getting a James Neal piece of auto'ed cheque versus a James Neal auto card picturing the actual player?

No, it's an index card sandwiched between two thicker pieces of paper surrounded by plactic. Not even the faintest attempt at a design effort is detectable.

Companies are getting a little to slap happy with the 1/1 tag. I know it goes against conventional wisdom, but try doing something to make a 1/1 stand out other than a different foil colour or, on this case, doing nothing at all.

Looking at the Jagr up on ebay right now and I gotta say that it's the ugliest autograph of his I've ever seen. With the current players and those still able to scribble their signature, why can't they have sigs that fit in the box and look as slick as possible. I saw the Bobby Clarke and while his auto looks nice, it's just a tad big for the cutout.

That loses a lot of appeal to me right off the bat.

I look at a lot of the completed sales and just scratch my head. I agree with the sentiment most have spoken here. High end product without player image is a big turn off. I feel this only serves to seriously dilute the value of an ITG cut auto when the card adds absolutely nothing to the cut. There is a reason why the Razor brand cuts sell for next to nothing. Is that really territory to muscle in on?>>... Also, a mention of the odd window angles and misaligned cuts I feel must be added. As a collector, why not by an original historical document and display it? I admit being very let down by the UM10 500 Goal Combo set. I realize the logistical nightmare presented by attempting to acquire images of some of those Goalies...but you can barely read the names much less distinguish one card from another in the set. This recurring theme will guarantee no more case/box breaks on my end. I am looking forward to Enshrined until I see the first non-image card with a piece of jersey/stick/glove/skate in it....

regarding that crosby.. even though 320 is quite a bit.. it's still one of the nicer crosby signatures around.
