GDT: Game 2 - Chicago @ St. Louis - April 19th.

Post was already removed. If it wasn't you, then I apologize. I said "if it was you" in my post. Like I said, it was spelled just like your name on here. May just have been a weird coincidence, but what was said on it was gutless. If it wasn't you, then you have nothing to be offended by. Assuming it wasn't you, my sincerest apologies. Just thought it was weird how the name was the same.

Then it was probably just some strange coincidence. As much as I rival against St. Louis sports teams, I would never do something like that, as that does not represent me.

Yeah, I think Backes is a gutless puke, pretty obvious and I don't deny it. He has a reputation as a spot picking license plate checker who throws way more cheap shots then he receives. I didn't give him that repuation, he did it all on his own with his style of play. What he did to MacKinnon was a gutless punk move and he was called out for it publicly by plenty of people in the hockey world whose opinions actually mean something. If you are actually defending what he did to MacKinnon, well, that speaks volumes.

Did he deserve to get hit in the head by Seabrook? Nope, I never said he did, but you can spin it any way you want to suit your agenda. I wish Seabrook didn't hit him in the head and I honestly do hope Backes is not hurt. But if he is hurt, well, there's this thing called karma. He has doled out plenty of his own head shots, knees, elbows, etc to other players, and the funny thing is, hockey players have a way of policing themselves and they have long memories. The old saying what comes around goes around is true, Backes has made his own bed with the way he plays, he can sleep in it now.

Maybe they can get him a no contact jersey since he's just a kid. Maybe you think the goalies should have to leave the crease when he takes a shot too, since he's a kid. I didn't see you whining when the scrub from the Avs took Oshie out. I didn't see you whining when some no-name scrub from the Avs gave Tarasenko a concussion last year. I guess you weren't a Claude Lemieux fan either, right?

My sincerest apologies. It was pretty horrible what was said and I got a little worked up. Glad to know someone here wouldn't stoop so low. Good luck the rest of the way. Just hope for a clean rest of the series.

Wow, sounds like plenty of whining from yourself there.

Any fan of a team that employs David Backes, Barret Jackman, Steve Ott, Maxime Lapierre, Roman Polack, Vald Sobotka, and even TJ Oshie (who I am a huge fan of but he is a cheap prick at times) etc complaining about cheap shots, BWAHAHAHA. That's like Matt Cooke tweeting out that he is sick and tired of people slashing him.

Haha! Gotta love the playoffs! Maybe you can catch your guys out on the golf course by the end of next week, so there's that at least for you to look forward to!

Oh no he didn't, our first golf course reference of the playoffs! Yippee, did you stay up late coming up with that witty comeback all by yourself? Of course its a Blose fan who brings that one in to the conversation because his team has never won anything other then maybe the draft lottery....

Every team employs players that partake in cheap, dirty actions. No team is above it.

The hawks are probably the only team that doesnt. The hawks are a classy team. Bollig has big checks, as does Bickell and Seabs. We dont have people who specifically go out and attack other players *cough cough* Lucic *cough cough*

Uh, Keith has been known to dole out some dirties, Bollig took out Cogliano's front teeth with a cheap high stick on a face off last year, Seabrook laid out Backes today, we unfortunately employed Carcillo for a season and he ran that kid from Edmonton for no reason, so don't go there dude. No team is exempt from cheap shots, but rarely do you see a team employ so many all at one time like the Blues have this year.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic, so if you are cool. If you're serious I hate to break it to you but the Hawks are not above it. Duncan Keith is dirty. He has developed quite a reputation. I would love to have him on my team, but dude is downright dirty quite often. Like today two-handing Blues players the entire game. It worked out really well early as it threw St. Louis for a loop, and they lost their composure due to it, helped the Hawks get back in the game. Very clever, and smart, but very dirty too. Those things are not mutually exclusive.

Despite the back and forth we've had over various threads, I must give kudos to you for this post. I can guarantee my team has laid out dirty hits, though I would certainly be loathe to admit it. Every team does something they (and their fans) regret; few fans will admit to it though (proof in the post you're replying to). Again, despite the disagreements we may have, as a fan you have my respect.

I was not being sarcastic, I was being serious. Duncan Keith is not a dirty player. If he were to be a dirty player, he wouldn't be considered one of the best defensemen in the league. If he were also that dirty, it would be hard for him to be nominated for Norris Trophy.

And you can't say that the Canucks don't have any either. Alex Burrows, prime example here.

I would never say Backes hasn't put some bad ones out there, I'm not delusional, but it's not like he murdered MacKinnon like some people were acting like. If the kid can't handle that, he's gonna have a short career. Now, I know he can take it, and he's more than likely going to have a great career. Heck, I really like watching him play, he's damn good. But a message needed to be sent and it was.

Argh, well, I can't back you up any more dude. Keith is dirty, no way to deny it. Yes it was retaliation and maybe (maybe) he deserved it but what he did to Sedin was un-necessary and could have been handled differently. He was swinging his stick today like he was playing tennis and there were little green balls everywhere. I know Cooke absolutely deserved it, but he totally cheap shotted Cooke with an elbow right to the head. I could find another 5 or 6 examples of him being dirty, he is by far the dirtiest on the Hawks.

All that being said, that does not exclude you from also being nominated for the best player at your position. Lindros was a dirty chump at times too, but he was also worthy of being named the best player in the league as well.

Fair enough. But Duncan Keith, all in all, has some dirty plays, but is only really dirty once every season. Like you said he is the dirtiest player on the hawks, and that says a lot because if he is dirty about once a season, then every other player on the team is dirty once every 2 or 3 seasons.

Seriously?

Burrows is not the only one, Kesler, Bieksa, and I suspect Edler is developing a rep as well for some of the hits he's doled out the last two seasons.

Being a dirty player does not preclude someone from being one of, if not the best at his position. Keith definitely deserves to be up for the Norris, but he has a track record of dirty hits. And his play today was dirty/cheap whatever adjective you want to use. His repetitive use of two hand slashing on multiple Blues players today was I'd like to think pretty clearly cheap. However, it was incredibly smart and heady on his part. Because of it he drew the penalty on Shattenkirk at the end of the second period. Those dirty tactics prove his intelligence on the ice. He was getting away with it all day, and even drew penalties out of the other team. I think that his play today alone proves my point.

here.

Chris Pronger was considered one of the dirtiest players in the league BY the players.

He was one of the best dmen in the league and key to many SC Championships, Olympics and playoff runs.

Duncan Keith is a great player, but that doesn't exempt him from being a dirty player. That argument just doesn't hold water. Sorry.

There is a fine line between being aggressive and dirty, and Keith is slightly over that line. But I wouldn't put him in the same category as some real dogs in the league, like going after other player's nut sack while they aren't even looking.

I was surprised that Seabrook dished out that hit he did on Backes, given his own concussion history. Plus it was a stupid hit that cost them the game. The blame is clearly on him.

Great series match up with already 2 OTs, bad blood fueling the rivalry. This should be the Western Conference Finals, but it's the 1st round.

Im just sitting here trying to figure out how a smack to the giblets is an awful horrible crime, but a leeping shoulder through a guys head is not nearly as bad. Seriously. How has no one pointed this out. Leeping shoulders into heads end careers. Sticks to the giblets end shifts. Maybe a couple shifts.
