Just how bad is the mail right now?

Not just CP but all courier services. Been waiting for a Canpar delivery that was supposed to have been delivered on Dec 1. Arrived in Vancouver on Dec 2 and has been in delayed status ever since.

Amazon orders still coming through on time or even earlier...
 
parcel's aren't too bad - leaving toronto going north my last package tracked was early by a day. coming in - give em an extra day or 2.
 
I have a couple packages that have been in town since Saturday last week... no updates since. Just chilling somewhere waiting to be sorted and then delivered i guess.

I also sent a non-tracked package to NY nearly a month ago that still hasn't shown up. Its not an expensive package but when your reputation is on the line it still sucks.

Edit: NY package just showed up today just now haha
 
I'm waiting on 4 cards that were shipped Nov 24th, 25th, 27th, & 29th from MB, QC, AB, & AB. All well past the 'estimated eBay delivery dates.' I'm sure all will somehow show up on the same day, but damn 3+ weeks for letter mail from a neighbouring province is sloooooowww.

Dang, hoping they show up soon.

I'm waiting on something located just 1 hour away from me .... and tomorrow will be 3 weeks.

I knew a delay was coming, but I didn't expect this from such a short distance away. :hockey:
 
Makes me feel a little better reading the last few posts. Waiting on quite a few packages. Going on 3 weeks for most of them. Most of them are from Quebec and a couple from Ontario. You guys find it inconsistent too? I’ve received a few from Quebec that were shipped out later then a couple I’m waiting on.

Yes. I received something yesterday that was shipped out after the stuff im waiting on, from a slightly longer distance.

It doesn't make sense right now. And I'm Not pushing blame onto the postal service, because I'm sure it's beyond insanity right now and it's totally not their fault, but no doubt there are delays and weird things happening with some of our cards right now across the country.
 
Not that we need any visual proof or anything but..... uh.... here's some pics I found of an unknown USPS sorting facility. Very likely the same thing up here in Canada too. So insane.

Yeah, I've been avoiding buying from the States this year in general but I recently made an exception for a card I just wasn't having luck finding up here. I don't expect to see it until February.

Maybe it's buried somewhere in one of those photos right now :crazy:
 
Supply and demand. The supply of shipping services - across the board, mind, not just USPS - is far outstripped by the demand. And the USPS specifically was hamstrung by various political shenanigans earlier in the year.
 
I haven't had a single update on any tracked mail since last weekend. Stuff has shown up here in town and then nothing since. And everything mailed out this week has been scanned in and nothing since. Usually you'd see movement within a day or two.

Considering pulling my listings down off ebay due to shipping delays.
 
It is so hit and miss.

I just had a card shipped from Brampton on Wednesday morning, I had it in hand Thursday at 10:30am.

I have a card coming from the US, it was shipped on Dec 12th (at least the label was created) and it has cleared customs and is was processed in Mississauga today.

Overall great service over the last month or so for me.

Yea I just had a card that shipped Wednesday from BC show up today. Yet 2 other cards (also from BC) have been sitting in Calgary since last Saturday. All send registered lettermail.
 
Received 9(!) bubble mailers today all from trades made on HI and from within Canada.

1 Trade completed on Dec 15th shipped from Alberta 6 hours away

2 Trade completed on Nov 27th shipped from Ontario

3 Trade completed on Nov 29th shipped from Ontario

4 Trade completed on Nov 29th shipped from Ontario

5 Trade completed on Dec 8th shipped form Alberta 7 hours away

6 Trade completed on Dec 9th shipped from Ontario

7 Trade completed on Dec 8th shipped from Ontario

One I couldn't track down but must have forgotten to post the trade and the other was a generous gesture from a fellow HI'er.

Everything showed up and that is all that matters. Patience is a must these days!
