Just how bad is the mail right now?

I have a few packages coming from the USA that are sitting at the border. One of the sellers opened a lost mail complaint with usps and all of a sudden the package showed up at my door on Sunday - even though the tracking hasn’t been updated since June 10th.

Tracking is unreliable right now. I had a card arrive to a buyer yesterday even though the last update on the tracking was that it only left Halifax a week or so ago. Other tracking numbers are updating after long delays but the timestamps of the events are from a day or two prior.

I had two packages come to me recently. First was two boxes of SPA from my lcs and they got here a couple of days late so everything was fine. The second package was some gear from Realsports here in Toronto and that was a weird experience. I got a notice in tracking that a notice card was left at my resident at 4 am Sunday which there was not. The package wound up being sent to the post office which I am not sure why b/c no one showed up at my house and the person sending me the package did not request that. I got the package is quick fashion and the notice card showed up the day I went to pick up the package. Just odd.

I just got an email from Canada Post telling me that the Registered Mail package I sent to Ontario over two weeks ago, and according to the lousy tracking has been processed through Mississauga three days ago, has now been re-routed because they ''made an error sorting my item'' and there are more potential delays. The kicker is the package is IN THE TOWN its supposed to be delivered to. What does that even mean? It's where it needs to be so why is it being re-routed? What kind of delays are we talking?

Just spoke to one of my buddies that works at CP...

It looks like anything coming into Canada from the US is being held at the border "in quarantine" for 2 weeks minimum. I guess it makes sense seeing as how the US is trending in the battle against covid-19.

From the 10 or so packages I've received from the USA in the last couple weeks, I've noticed that if it is going from the Chicago center it seems to be quite quick but if it's the Jamaica (NY) center it seems to be going very slowly.

Ordered a few spa boxes over the past couple of weeks from my lcs's and they both got here pretty quick. I have a package incoming from NY and so far so good. it got to the queens loading station in a day so now the real wait begins..

I have an incoming package from Toronto. I live 50km away. The seller tracked it (thankfully) and Canada Post shows it as being received by Canada Post on July 2nd. I checked again today....:

“Delivery status: pending”

Today is July 18th. Wow. Since it’s tracked, I believe there is a maximum delivery promise of 4-9 days?

And since making that deal here on HI, I made another deal with a different member here, again he is in Toronto. He shipped it untracked (which is 100% ok) and it arrived yesterday....

With covit-19 Canada Post is not honouring any times when it comes to shipping with tracking. Other then they will still see that it gets delivered at some point.

my brother who lives in cali also bought a couple of things for my nephew and father. he got my nephew some lego play sets from lego.ca and those got here in toronto in less than a week and my dad got a putting green which also took around a week. that store was in a florida.

Canada to US seems to be running fairly well lately I think.

It's incoming that been the problem for us Canadians as the workplace restrictions and guidelines have proved to be the cause for a lot of slow mail, not to mention the increase in online orders overall. I also think it depends on where you're located as well.

my buddy that lives in ny sent me a bday package on thursday and let me know that it should get here in 10-12 days which is about normal. i read somewhere that stuff that gets sent to the queens distribution center gets held there, but my package left that facility last night so here's hoping there are no delays.

Here's hoping things are sloooooowly returning to some sort of normalcy when it comes to the mail.

I hope you get your b-day package soon!

My package left Miami, FL ICS July 8th for Canada and i've heard that CBSA / Canada Post might hold the package for a 14 day quarantine period.
No update posted on the Canada Post website to indicate they have the package only that USPS telling it has left the United States for its Int'l destination.
I also expect to pay the 13% HST and a 9.99 CAD CSBA brokerage fee.

Interesting. Last few I've had tracked from the USA got token stops at the border for a couple days at worst.

just found out via canada post that my package is being sent via international inbound express and is on its way to canada. hopefully i'll get the package early next week b/c normally it should take 1-3 days to get here.

Just some updates on international mail situation.
All my airmails sent to US in April 24-29 range arrived to US border on July 11 by sea routes. This is the longest ever durations happened to my mails, within Russia the post service is the opposite - like lightning last months. Persons from our countries received my mails much faster. And what is funny, USPS shows no tracking within US while it is available at Russian post website - so they have the info but do not show it on their website.

Got one card in the mail from the US that I bought July 3rd and it arrived July 12th. That's pretty quick considering the environment we're in.

I won't lie, I Lysol'd the hell out of it when I got it.

Most things have been arriving pretty timely for me, but I have a package from Canada with actual tracking on it, and it's been sitting in Chicago (according to the tracking) since the 10th with no update.

Buddy sent my package using international inbound express and it should take 1-3 to days to get here and i received tracking updates in a timely matter until it was done with processing in NY and on its way to Toronto. I am upset that my friend spent upwards to $50 to make sure I got my package as quickly as possible and it is probable if not likely that Canada Post is being lazy and letting my package rot in customs...
