I was wondering what people's thoughts were on that Lucic's hit on Miller? It thought it was pretty cheap that he took a run at his head like that. Looked like an intent to injure, but maybe I'm alittle bias being a Sabres fan. After seeing the hit I couldn't help but call Lucic a piece of crap for that one.

i miss it, but i will watch the replay of the game

when did it happen so i can fast forward to it, as i am taping it

There was no reason for Lucic to even hit him. He went out of his way to do so. He could have easily avoided it.

Would I have called it an intent to injure? No, not at all. However, he should have gotten a double-minor.

After seeing it, I kind of wished Miller had connected with the swing of the stick on Lucic's ankles. That would have broken something on Lucic for sure. Would have taught Lucic a lesson about respect of the opposing goaltender.

And, before all you Bruin fans get in an uproar, I love Lucic as a player. In this case though, he was a bit of a 'gutless puke.'

No, gutless would be an apt description for the rest of the Sabres team who should be ashamed of themselves for not standing up for Miller.

Miller went off on Lucic with multiple gutless P.O.S. blasts. Gaustad said he was ashamed they didn't do more to stand up for their goalie.

I think it was really cheap

It was cheap hit, but is it really surprising with the Bruins. Lucic know what he did there trying to hurt the best players of a division rival.

Last year Chara did the same on Paccioretty, and this hit help the Bruins winning the Cup, when a series finish in 7 game OT, a player like Paccioretty could help to change that scenario.

The things I dislike the most with the Bruins is that they don't need to do those things there good enough to win without playing cheap, but its the culture of this team I guess.

+1

The Sabres got punked....Luc was smiling about it. I don't care what Sabres were on the ice, Luc should have been jumped immediately

I don't think it was as bad as people are making it out to be, and I am a Miller fan. Lucic gave him a shot but I don't think it was way over the top or intent to injure. The Bruins took advantage and the momentum obviously, they were down a goal at the time and laid a whooping on the Sabres after that.

When you are that far out of the crease I don't think it's a problem.

See, you guys are going with the old incorrect thing about a goalie being fair game when he is not in his crease.

They are not fair game. A penalty (minor or major) is assessed when an opposing player makes unneccesary contact with a goaltender.

Lucic definitely could have avoided the contact, but chose not to.

i say Lucic was a douche for the contact. yes, he had momentum but throwing the arms out to push Miller harder wasn't necessary. he could've tried to avoid him or just braced for impact.

Is anyone really surprised. A cheapshot by a cheapshot artist. The funniest part was Lurch's hands. Had an easy breakaway and shot the puck forward like a moron and couldnt catch up to it. He was pissed at himself he took it out on Miller.

Lucic being a complete moron is nothing new and wont change anytime soon unfortunately.

A complete moron who is a Cup champ and a 30 goal scorer (who is on pace for 43). Glad that moron is on the Bruins. And 95% on Fans who whine would love to have him on their team too, guaranteed.

Neither of those things you posted changes the fact that he is a moron. Some of the most accomplished people in the world are morons.

This. I'm a big Lucic supporter from his days with the Giants. But he has grown to be quite the goon I've seen him throw sucker punches and now this. Makes me question what influence they are having on him down their in Boston. I prefered when he played an honest hard working game. He has way too much skill to be gooning it up.

I just saw the reply and I agree with Randy Lucic could have avoided Miller

Wayyyyyyy out of the crease. Looks like a good place to hit an opponent to me....

Nail on the head.

As a former goalie, you know there is a risk of getting hit when you have a situation like that. It has happened before, and will happen again.

I never supported the 'dont hit the goalie' rule, and I still dont. But based on the rules then Lucic deserved his 2 minutes. Other than that I see nothing wrong.

It would have been real interesting if Miller made contact with that sweeping slash he attempted after he fell too..... And yes, I had more of an issue with that than the actual hit.
