Hi Guys and Gals and of course kids!!

On Sunday, August 16th, 2009 www.torontocardshow.com presents another sports and non sports card show at Leaside Gardens @ Eglinton and Laird in Toronto...

Inspired by Quincy and Scooby's initial donation and idea, we have received more donations to keep a few more kid's $5 gift certificates in circulation for this show. Kid's will have a chance to win $5 gift certificates that they can take and spend on their choice of cards at the show this Sunday.

This show is for the kids.. they are the ones who make our hobby great and continue to grow over time.

FrankToronto and I have been hitting the pavement with a marketing campaign to promote the show. We will continue to push our show and make it an outstanding event for all our dealers and customers yet maintaining that it an affordable family event. The response we have been getting has been outstanding and I would like to thank each and everyone of you for making our show a resounding success story!

Here are the details for the show...

Great door prizes to be won as always, but once again this show will have tons of free give-aways for kids including:
In The Game Super Boxes
Complete Sets
Tins and Team Bags of cards
Wayne Gretzky and Doug Gilmour Posters
Gift Certificates to pick and choose cards at the show
Lots of other cool stuff

There will be a mix of new and regular dealers meaning a fresh assortment of great cards available at the Toronto Card Show this Sunday!

Look forward to seeing you there! And always please spread the word about our show.

This just in... looks like we'll have a new dealer on Sunday who has quite an impressive collection of:
1909-1911 T206 White Border Baseball
1911 T205 Gold Border Baseball
1910-1911 Imperial Tobacco C56 Hockey
1911-1912 Imperial Tobacco C55 Hockey
and other rare vintage.

Definitely will be cool to see.

We'll be there as always. With our 2 tins of opened cup, a nice Doughty/Schenn Dual Scripted, as well as 5 tins of the Cup if anyone is interested.

Mike

You got a case and a loose tin? Or you only have 5 tins left? Also how much?

I originally had 1 case and 2 tins. I opened 2 tins from the case, and another customer opened one from the case. So, 3 tins left from the case and 2 tins. Nothing really huge came out though the Schenn/Doughty is nice. $425/box.

Bump for the TCS fellas...I might be making an appearance today, bring your 8x10's of me and $5 and you'll have yourself an ugly picture with ink all over it and I'll have spending cash for the show. Win/Win for everyone!

ah you guys beat me to the bumps.. thanks guys...

reminder that Frank and I have been really busting our butts to promote the shows for the rest of the year...

I am thinking tomorrow is going to be a wicked show..

With The Cup having been released just days ago plus the new people being attracted to the show, I think it's gonna be a fun one! Geez... I hope I'm not too busy that I don't get a chance to look at cards! :P

Oh, by the way, when you arrive at the show make sure you leave your name/HI username with Ameet at the lobby. ;)

I've always wanted to ask this, how come you guys run the show from 10-4?

How come it's not more traditional hours like 12-5 or 12-6 like malls and stuff?

Some people have other commitments that early in the day, so I've always wondered the rationale for starting the show so early and ending so early.

Thanks.

Good question. Actually, when we first started the show it was 11-5 and we then learned that starting earlier, not later, was the popular demand.

The vast majority of attendance shows up between 10-12 and then it gradually trails off into the afternoon. It also gives dads a chance to hit the card show and still make plans with the family during the rest of the day. Mind you, since we're attracting more families these days, they're spending most of the day together at the card show (that's a good thing! :) )

If I had my way, it wouldn't start until 12... I'm not a morning person and I have to get there to setup at 8 AM! :P

I vouch for the earlier show times. A lot of the business is done in the first two hours. With an hour+ drive, it gets me home just in time for dinner. :)

Thanks for all the people who showed up. We had another record attendance today which shows that our marketing and promotional efforts are leading to extremely desirable results. I love when dealers come up to us and tell us they had the best August in the last few years!!!!!!

Got to see a lot of happy kids and happy customers....

congrats to Leonard to busting the cup pack and landing a gretzky cup auto /99 patch!!!
