Just how bad is the mail right now?

The mall is just random.
I've received packages from Europe quicker than I have from the US. I find the biggest delays happening on mail from US to Canada.

I live in Nova Scotia,I sent two packages to the US ,One I sent on July 21st to Colorado, the second one I sent to Pennsylvania on July 22.Both packages were delivered yesterday.I do not think I can ask any more of Canada Post and USPS than that.

Yeah the mail is just too random right now.

Package sent from ARI July 6th has not updated as of yet at the border, one that was mailed from NY on the 24th has already cleared customs and has a pending delivery date.

I understand this is two different parts of the country but still pretty crazy.

Shipped out a package on July 7 with tracking. Got to the destination (St.Johns) on the 16th. And has been out for delivery since that day. I don’t understand how it hasn’t been delivered. It’s where it needs to be? Should I be worried you think? Oddly enough I sent out a untracked package after the date to that side of the county and it took only a week to be delivered. Seems strange.

Tracking a couple of packages. One was shipped from the USA and came into Canada via the Montreal hub. It went from Montreal (3 hrs east of me) to Belleville (30 mins west of me). I thought that was strange enough. Well one that originated in Montreal was just scanned in Mississauga (2 hours west of me).

Mail sure is odd right now.

When I go to the post office to mail a package they always circle the tracking number then they give me the receipt and I tell them their tracking info is a gimmick because I continue to get my packages later than the date they basically promise to have it there. Oh it should be there in three days. The package coming today was mailed from Chicago to NH and it took 10 days. :foottap: :|

Another awkward situation for me. I was supposed to receive a package today from Toronto, but the weird thing is the package has not even been processed yet and is stuck in Etobicoke. Hopefully I get it on Monday, but I am not expecting any updates over the weekend and Tuesday is probably more realistic.

Imagine that. A global pandemic and your mail takes a little longer. I'm sure they love it when you come in.

i had the same sort of thing happen to me twice with canada post. my package was processed today in scarborough after tracking stating yesterday that it should it arrive. the facility it was at is in etobicoke and i live in scarborough which literally is just going around in circles..

Seems like a lot of these issues are with Canada Post, but USPS isn't far behind lately. With the new postmaster in charge cutting hours, delivery routes and overtime with the general purpose to make USPS as inefficient as possible for political reasons, I'm having a lot of issues these past 2 weeks with packages sitting around for days (including Priority Mail), getting misdelivered, showing delivered when nothing's arrived and any other generals crew up you can think of.

I do have to say, everything I've shipped to the USA has arrived in record time. I've actually had ebay users message me about how quick the delivery times were.

In Canada, I've had items that I bought last week arrive prior to the items I bought 3 weeks ago from the same seller.

All this uncertainty and randomness makes no sense to me. Shouldn't there be similar policies across the board? I know one particular group breaker that ships 100s of packages everyday and he works alone. This reinforces my thought process that the workers at canada post and usps are just being lazy.

May I ask why? There doesn't seem to be any reasoning behind this thought process.

That's why. He doesn't have a boss or company policy to handcuff him. He just does whatever he wants to do and ships as much as he can, whenever he chooses.

A Canada Post or USPS worker is between a rock in a hard place with trying to do their job while under the new COVID-19 workplace they are navigating around. These things slow the process down considerably, causing unprecedented delays, not to mention the fact that each individual postal workplace will have their own logistical delays/risks the general public will never consider.

It's just not as simple as 1 + 1, sadly.

I guess we all just need to be more empathetic to the entire situation and believe they are doing their best. Just all this waiting around not knowing what is going on is making everyone frustrated since there is no clear cut reason to why these things are happening.
