Patch forger... caught! gomaz would be proud ;)

It's not as simple as that. In order to "face the music", one has to put together a criminal case. No easy task, especially when the sales venue is uncooperative.

How's that gonna read, Ryan?
"Dear Patch-Forging Scumbag,
Thank-you for compromising the integrity of my card collection, taking my money under false pretenses, and generally being a complete asshat so that you could line your pockets. This card is gorgeous, however, and I'm proud to display your phenomenal skill at forgery as a warning to others that they might treat you with the contempt and disgust you truly deserve."

Something like that?

Yes!

But come on Steve , as the Expo is a family venue wouldn't it be more appropriate to swap out "asshat" for degenerate, imbecile, donkey, dunce or terrorist ? Kidding on the last one.

Jeremy if you see out infamous fake patcher there.....

Just grab your video camera, get Steve and Bruce to hold him down, put him in a "figure four" or "camel clutch" till he admits to everyone at Expo what he's done and post it on here and you tube!!!

i noticed that i bought a card off of him before....card in question - 06-07 ultimate joe sakic ultimate patch #61/75

good thing i keep a picture of every card that i've had or have

sakic_ult.jpg

i bought it off of him in the summer of 2008 and moved it to a dealer at the toronto show.

I prefer the degenerate language over asshat, but the latter is more descriptive of him.

Should we do up the letter and have all hobbyists sign it, then pitch in to reimburse Randy, and send the card & letter back to the scumbag?

I'd replace "Patch-forging scumbag" with his first and last name.

Well hang on here. That's MY IP you're bandying about so liberally...

*SLAP*

Sorry, had a bout of Demonic Lawyer Possession for a moment. If you like, I'll do up a lengthier letter. I'm keeping "asshat" though. It may be slightly coarser than is preferred, but it serves so admirably that a little roughness may be excused.

Ryan - I'd rather pay the money to have his name legally changed to "Patch Forging Scumbag". Can you do such things without the person's knowledge? ;)

OK well if we might have drama like that at the Expo, I may consider coming now just to check out the show!! Oh yeah, do they sell hockey cards at the expo?

I'm usually careful and conservative with what I say on the forums but I'll just let loose a bit. I remember that Sakic, it was in one of his display cases at the expo RIGHT UNDER my nose at the spring expo. I don't have proof that it's fake, and having 3 colours on a patch in such a small window is possible but highly unlikely.

He had some other Mona Lisa's there too. I remember a Crosby ultimate patch, but the patch was 2 colours and white jersey and it was consistent with others I have seen, but with his stuff you never know.

I saw the Kopecy on the first page, it was right under my nose too, PROVEN FAKE. There was also a Ryan Getzlaf the cup limited logo's autograph /50 he had from the 07-08 The cup set with the Anahiem mighty ducks shouder patch on it, that one is most likely fake although I don't have proof. EDIT ADDED THIS-----There was also a Wendel Clark 06-07 the cup limited logos autograph patch /50 he had too that i doubt was real, it had the n t and o from the toronto maple lefas emblem on it in blue better and white maple leaf background, another fake?

The kid is loaded the cards he has with the fake stuff on them are all real autographs real too minus the patches of course so let's be clear on that. He's loaded, why is he doing this? That's the question that was obviously addressed earlier and the consensus answer was that criminals come in all shapes, forms, size, status, and race.

With the expo coming up this will obviously put a dent in patch card sales and many of my new first time customers will be asking me the origins of the patch cards I will be having out. It's unfortunately come to this.

If the hobby insider detectives can get on the case of even find pictures of the cards I have mentioned please put them on this very popular thread, it will definitely add fuel to the fire.

I hope too see some of you in person at the expo, bruce (meatmancy) and jeremy (gomaz) and thank you personally for your efforts and for exposing this guy who I unfortunately knew but did not know he was doing this and want to have nothing to do with now.

Oh yeah, he is banned from the Toronto card show, that in itself is a label that many people are not marked with. A person that is banned from a cardshow must be calice, stupid, degenerate, and an asshat LOL. I guess special people get special treatment.

We detailed the cards we could, at the time. Because some of the cards were likely bought at smaller shows, altered and then re-sold at shows or even on eBay, we never would have had the originals to begin with to prove them fake.

We had a list of another fifteen or twenty questionable ones, including that Wendel and Getzlaf, but couldn't find the original.

Wow that a fast repsonse bruce, yeah two cards are questionable, I feel sorry for whoever owns them, there are bigger fish to fry then worrying about weather or not your cards are real or fake. Anyways since I'm on the subject I'd like to keep going and clear some things up.

I will be at the expo selling my stuff at booth 510, the same booth Kenny was operating in. I know people remember there bad experiences it's a common thing in retail, retailing hockey cards. Guys please, Kenny has nothing to do with that spot anymore and me and the guy I will be working work have nothing to do with him. Booth 510 is under new ownership and individuals and does not contain homemade patch cards.

What booth 510 will contain is a little bit of everything. My business partner and I will be selling hockey card singles, inserts, jersey, autographs, and unopened boxes for very good prices. I even carry an extensive line of golf cards and other items that will definitely catch your eyes and interests. Me and my partner will have display cases with half price 50% off young guns, rookies, and memorabilia and everything. I will have specials on Sunday only so please stop by. I don't want people avoiding us/the location because of the stupidity that was going on there. See you at the expo! Diamond Memories corner booth 510!

LOL. Great disclaimer.

Just as regards the Sakic Patch - I have one with 3 colors, but it's straight from UD after damage replacement. I have no doubts to its provenance....well, at least as far as being the patch UD stuck in the window.

when this post was first started i noticed the seller kao_seneca right away because i baught a macinnis pc card off him, i dont know if the patches are real but for some reason the more i look at it the more i wonder. here is the macinnis card.
