Hey!
i read this thread for the first time yesterday, the last post before me add sports_memory to the list and i'm thinking that i bought a card from him last week!!
when i got home i check the mail and i have a White Enveloppe and guest from Who?
card is ok it was a least in a top loader wrap in bill copy with staple at each end!!

worst thing is that when i did go to leave his feedback (neutral one) he change his Ebay username!! Now Sports_memory is 99cents_auction be careful people!!

Thank

Note to self: Never buy an eBay card with free shipping again! Thankfully, the card is in pretty good condition.

Item:10-11 Score Jordan Eberle SSP
Ebay ID: hamish1943
Shipping Cost: $2.50

Actual shipping cost was $0.59, card was protected and not damaged, i will give him that.
Neutral with a warning of WHITE Envelope shipper was left.

Leaving someone a neutral for a card that arrived in perfect shape is lame. If it arrives damaged, fly away with all the negs and neutrals you want. If your worried about PWE's ... ASK HOW IT WILL BE SHIPPED BEFORE YOU BUY THE CARD.

...does someone know where I can get the "No White Envelopes" banner, you sometimes see it in auctions....!?

I got today from Domragebull18 I brought a 08-09 Ultra M.Naslund GU, He charged $2.99 shipping, the card was in a PWE and the card was not even in a top loader!
I'm glad the card wasn't damaged but the edge might have been chipped.

Item: 03-04 Pacific Luxury Suite Alexander Semin RC
ebay ID: vaughanbetts
Shipping: $3.00

Card came in top loader and soft sleeve in a white envelope. Card is said to be "mint" in description but it is splitting apart on one side. Does this warrant a negative? I don't think it was due to the shipping, but it isn't mentioned anywhere in the description, either.

I would atleast contact the seller first and give them the chance to either refund your money or do something to make it right first. Either way that really sucks. Hope it works out in the end.

Item: Parkhurst Missing Link Tom Johnson Auto
Ebay ID: 1962leafs
Shipping Cost: $3.50

Couldnt even slurge the penny on putting the card in a penny sleeve so that it wasnt halfway out of the toploader when I opened the white envelope. Enjoy the $3 you pocketed, guy.

Now I wouldn't have been to upset if the card had not come in damaged. It was mailed in top loader with decoy card taped to outside. Don't see how that much damage could happen.

If you think these bubble mailers with top load and penny sleeve with team bag AND some decoys are the answer to getting your cards perfect, then think again.

Picture this....or even better, IMAGINE your card packed this way floating on a pillowy soft pile of cotton under a huge umbrella. FORGET IT! Yes, when packed this way, your card should arrive nice and sound. But as someone who works for UPS *pause*

Before anyone claims that this carrier is better than that one blah blah blah, THEY ALL SUCK!

*play* I can tell you that sometimes these things are so abused, it would make you puke! Or at least, throw up in your mouth a little LOL

It only takes a few degrees of inward bend for those dreaded creases or buckles to occur. Take a crappy no name joe jersey card and pack it in "H.I. Standards" and flex it inward just a little.

Small mail items like bubbles are carried in huge bags and dumped to be sorted by hand in each location they arrive at. For cards to US from Can or Can to US or even domestically, this could be as many as five stops. I bet not many of these under paid workers collect cards. Get me????

Sheep Happens. It sucks but it is a risk. I got a card in a mag one touch that arrived broken with card thoroughly gouged in many spots.

While there's no method that can guarantee 100% effectiveness, I'd sleep better at night knowing my card had the "bubble mailers with top load and penny sleeve with team bag AND some decoys" treatment as opposed to the careless PWE method.

I'd be surprised if you didn't think the same.
